From the New York Times today, Pete Seeger on his Sunday routine:
OUTDOOR CHURCH “Every time I’m in the woods, I feel like I’m in church.”
CHOPPING WOOD “That’s recreation. It’s in our DNA to like to go ‘whack.’ About two or three million years ago, we started walking on two feet, and that’s when we started swinging sticks. It’s not an accident that sports like golf and baseball and cricket are popular all over the world.”
STILL LEARNING “Fresh corn only needs to be boiled for two minutes. The trick is to not put too much corn in the pot and lower the water temperature. I just learned that.”
ONE MORE SECRET “It’s a very important thing to learn to talk to people you disagree with.”
